In the days of the German empire
During the period up until 1914, which was marked by a lasting upswing of the economy, the bank’s balance sheet total increased to 127 m Reichsmark. The issuing business continued to grow, the traditional business in trade acceptances and foreign exchange expanded, the trading volume in securities arbitrage with Berlin and Frankfurt and in foreign exchange arbitrage increased. Relationships with Scandinavia were intensified.
