1917 Carl Melchior entered the bank as the first partner to be a non-member of the Warburg family.
1938 Bank converted to a limited partnership company (Kommanditgesellschaft) with directors Dr. Rudolf Brinckmann and Paul Wirtz. Dormant equity holding confiscated from the Warburg family when the war broke out.
1941 Bank renamed Brinckmann, Wirtz & Co.
1956 Eric M. Warburg (fifth generation), father of the personally liable partner Max Warburg, enters as co-owner.

1991 The bank retakes its original name M.M.Warburg & CO.
1994 Takeover of the real-estate company Behne & Partner GmbH and change of legal form to a KGaA (limited partnership with share capital).
1995 The following companies are established: M.M.Warburg & CO Hypothekenbank AG, M.M.Warburg & CO Schiffahrtstreuhand GmbH and M.M.Warburg & CO Assekuranz GmbH.
1996 M.M.Warburg Bank Schweiz AG established.
1997 Acquisition of the bank Hallbaum AG & Co. KG, Hanover.
1998 Acquisition of the bank Marcard, Stein & Co GmbH & Co. KG.
1999 Acquisition of 51 % of the bank Carl F. Plump & Co., Bremen.
2000 Investment company Atalanta Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH & CO KG established.
2001 Establishment of the real estate company Warburg - Henderson Kapitalanlagegesellschaft für Immobilien mbH in conjunction with Henderson Global Investors, acquisition of a holding in Hansa Hamburg Shipping International GmbH & Co. KG.
