Frachtcontor Junge & Co. with new Shareholders

Atalanta Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH, a company of the Warburg Network, is acquiring 100 % of the shares of Frachtcontor Junge & Co. GmbH from Schenker AG (Deutsche Bahn) through its newly founded holding company Beteiligungsgesellschaft Frachtcontor Junge mbH. 

In addition to Atalanta Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH, members of the Frachtcontor Junge & Co. GmbH management and other shareholders close to Atalanta will also take a stake in the Beteiligungsgesellschaft Frachtcontor Junge mbH.
The consortium of purchasers secures the dynamic and successful future of the shipbroker and chartering agent Frachtcontor Junge & Co., a company rich in tradition. This opens up a promising prospect for the employees of the company as well as its management.
The acquisition is conditional to approval by the responsible committees and authorities. The transaction is expected to be closed in April.

Frachtcontor has been active in Hamburg as a shipbroker and ship agent for over 100 years and is a service provider to the international shipping market. The company has branches in Rotterdam, Wilhelmshaven, Rostock and Poland. The focal points of the company’s activities today are chartering services for dry and liquid bulk commodities (bulk carriers and tankers), the sale and purchase of ships, port agency for ships in all seaports between Belgium and Poland and the commercial management of bulk carriers and tankers. Frachtcontor today has 115 employees, 75 of which are located in Hamburg.
